An Online Gateway to the History of East Texas

Introduction

The mission of the Center for East Texas Studies is to promote all aspects of the heritage of East Texas. As part of this mission, the Center's PastPort gateway will offer the most comprehensive index to the historical resources of East Texas on the WWW: its museums, its document collections, its historic tourist attractions, and its historically interested people. PastPort also maintains an important online links program designed to aid East Texans and others in doing research in local and family history via the World Wide Web.

Navigation of the Web is easy, but visualization of the linking system is sometimes confusing. Some of the links within PastPort are used more than once; other links take you off to other parts of the nation and world. To return to the key items in the PastPort INDEX, please rely on the links below on every page to return you to the starting point.
