The Angelina and Neches River Railroad Company will celebrate its 100th anniversary in August of 2000. The Center for East Texas Studies is helping the railroad company celebrate its history and contributions to East Texas by publishing its history both eletronically and in print. This series of web pages, as well as the book, will provide an in depth look at the railroad and the men and women who have kept it working for a century.

In the following series of pages, the railroad's 100 year history will be explored. Much of the locomotive information was taken from Joseph A. Strapac's Texas Locomotive Rosters; Steam Era. I cannot praise Mr. Strapac's work enough, and I am indebted to him for his fine work. The sections of this site are divided into catagories and their content is detailed below:

This section is a complete roster of all of the known A&NR steam engines. Listed in the table are both narrow and standard gauge locomotives.

This section lists all of the A&NR's diesel engines, including the ones that are still in use today.

This section contains all of the information found in the Diesel and Steam Locomotive Sections, but it does not contain any images.

This Section contains a brief history of the Angelina County Lumber Company, which founded the A&NR in 1900.

This section contains a short history of the A&NR.
